We win when we LIVE UNITED

United we FIGHT. United we WIN.

For 72 years, the United Way has helped to improve the lives of our friends, neighbors, and those in need within Madison County. Throughout the years, your contributions have allowed us to give back to our community in so many helpful ways.

The United Way of Madison County supports 16 local agencies that offer services and assistance to those in need. These agencies help provide opportunities for a better life to our co-workers, neighbors, friends and relatives. Even the smallest contribution can make a difference.

All the money raised here stays here to have a positive impact right here in Madison county.

What we’re fighting for

According a Madison County Health Department report: cancer, heart disease, and obesity were the health problems cited the most serious in our communities. Water and air quality, physical activity and safety, social capital and health equity impact the physical and mental health of residents.

Success in life begins with a quality education. And yet, many children and youth in our county lack the support they need to strengthen their literacy, stay on track in school, graduate high school and find a career.
We’re fighting to shift the odds so tomorrow’s leaders can build a better foundation today.

Financial Stability

As of 2018, 39% (10,190) of the 26,127 Households in Madison County are at or below the ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed), which means 39% of our neighbors struggle to afford basic necessities.

Helping to build a stronger community

United Way needs you to join the fight. Because your passion, expertise and resources will help the fight become a win. A win that’s not just a short-term contribution, but a long-term solution.

That’s what it means to LIVE UNITED.

Together we FIGHT. Together we WIN.

We are more than fund-raisers. We are hand-raisers. We raise our hands not only to lead the fight, but to reach out to people who need help. And hope.

We win by living United. By forging unlikely partnerships. By finding new solutions to old problems. By mobilizing the best resources. And by inspiring individuals to join the fight against their community’s most daunting social crises.

So who are the hand-raisers, the game-changers? They’re people who know that at the core of every human being is a desire to do good. Who recognize the power that comes from a shared purpose. Who understand they’re always stronger together than they are alone. It’s people like you.
